“That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.”

  1. HELENA We cannot fight for love, as men may do;
    We should be wooed, and were not made to woo.
    DEMETRIUS And men fight not for love bur father's "yea",
    Our duty gives no choice but to obey.

    1. I really love your couplet Maëlys! We find again the themes of patriarchal society, and love vs. reason. Demetrius is kind of rearranging the words Helena just used. Since she does that most of the time, I think it is very funny to reverse the roles. I think this couplet illustrates the bahavior of Demetrius in the adaptation we have seen.
      Great job!

    1. I liked that you mentionned Hermia, in order to highlight the contrast between his engagement to Helena (who loves him) and Hermia who doesn't. The exclamation mark shows his exasperation.
      Well done !

    1. I really love your couplet Tom, mostly because you put a question and it reveals the ironic tone of Demetrius. Thus, you develop even more his character and the way you describe him as almost disgusted made me laugh! ;)
